hello peeps
I am so lucky to have such a great husband who is so talented and reliable! He scored on a job to help design and build an in door skate park recently and he was not even planning on it. Our garage looks like a wood shop right now because Chris is cutting the wood here at the house for all the transitions for the park. He got to work with the guy and re design the park a bit so it is looking pretty neat on paper and it will be exciting to see the finished product. Chris has built alot of parks but they were concrete parks, he is a wood guy and it is an art form for him.
I also found out that my parents were offered a job to manage a place about 1 1/2 from us!! Right now they are in Missouri and miserable! My parents are wanting so bad to have a close relationship with Jesse and Maggie so this is such an answered prayer for our whole family. I know if my parents move then my sister and little brother will to and we can all be close again and spend quality family time together like we use to! My little bother and his fiance are going to have a baby in March, it will be so good to have everyone in 1 area
Prayer works, God is awesome!!!
oh and the kids are excellent and looks like we will finalize still this month!!

she's out to get us..
my 3 year old I mean haha
The other day Maggie brought out about 20 books and made a book walkway. Before dinner we reminded her it was time to clean up and put away toys...
(Maggie) "I not do that mess"!!! I not pick up anything it is to much!!!
(Dad) Maggie you need to pick up all your books
(Maggie) NO!!
(Dad) Maggie, I'm going to count to 3...
(Maggie) 123...Piggy did it
(Mom) Maggie, in your room now!!
(Maggie) I don't want to!!!
(Mom) 1...2...
(Maggie) cries and lays on her bed
(Dad) 5 minutes later...Maggie are you going to pick up your books now?
(Maggie) fake cries...NO I NOT
she comes out for dinner and after dinner we offer her 1 more chance to pick up books, she still refuses so we take all her books away and "call Santa"
(Santa) Maggie are you being a good girl and listening to your parents?
(Maggie) I not put books away...piggy will do it tomorrow but I still a good girl
haha yikes she is only 3

what do you think it is Jesse?
My son just cracks me up with his little witty mouth!
For his birthday we bought him a bike and this cool interactive dragon castle thing. The bike we gave him on Tues (his birthday) and the castle we are waiting to give him tonight at his party. This morning when we were leaving the house he spotted his wrapped present on the kitchen table...he stops and says oh my gosh is that for me???
I said it sure is...what do you think it is?
He taps his little finger on his temple and in all seriousness jumps up and shouts......
CONCRETE!!!!!!
I could not stop laughing, then he says you know what mom..I don't care what it is, I will be happy with whatever I get.
I can honestly say he is right...even if it were concrete he would be happy =)

Happy Birthday Jesse
We love you more than you could ever imagine!
My boy is six today, we are having his party on Friday night. Chris is out getting a pinata and his new bike right now. Jesse is so excited about this birthday party because he has friends coming. Alot of our friends have kids and most of them are also skateboarders or wives/girlfriends of skaters. All of our close friends are very "family first" so we all do events and such as families. I love the people we surround ourselves with. Friends with morals and family values... friends who take pride in family and put their kids first.

whew...maybe
Looks like they will be able to list father as "John Doe" so we can still finalize on National Adoption Day 2009...don't know all the details but our lawyer is doing some data search which will hopefully clear everything up.
I will update when I know more
I called the kids birth grandparents today and left a message. I want to meet them. I want to keep that door open, I don't care to have a relationship but I just want know where my kids came from. Who knows if I will get a call back but ya know what? I made the effort and that is all I can do

spoke to soon...
So about 1/2 hour after my post yesterday we get a call from the kids CPS case worker. She says; "we have a problem"....
On Maggie's birth certificate there is no father listed so there needs to be a father search done before we can proceed with the adoption!!!!!
WAIT>>>WHAT???????????
How in the world did this slip by everyone? Granted I know how overworked CPS is and how much workload a lawyer has but how did they go through TPR and all the way to a month before the adoption before this was even noticed? What am I missing?
No one has an answer!
Has anyone ever heard of this happening before?

new beginnings
Yesterday evening was our last home visit with our adoption specialist. It makes me a little sad because she is wonderful and I love the agency we went through. I can not thank them enough for the valuable tools/experience/activities they have provided my family with! I am ready to do it all over again (hehe) Jesse really wants an older brother so maybe in the future it will be an option but right now it would not even be possible because there is a 6 month hold once an adoption finalizes. Our adoption finalizes November 21st at 10:30am...what a whirlwind of a year it has been for us, I am so grateful for all the support we have been given and truly humbled when I think of my kids and how we became a family and how everything is coming together.
Tonight we are taking the kids to get their costumes, Maggie wants to be Dora and Jesse can not decide so we are playing it by ear. I really love this time of year, it is probably my favorite time.

nice weekend
We had a nice weekend, Chris worked doing a side job so it was just me and the kids. Saturday Jesse cuddled with me, it was a first. I was loving it =)
Saturday night we watched a HBO special about kids who donate their hair to locks of love and the kids who receive the hair. Jesse and Maggie were really into it, they asked alot of questions about why some of the kids were bald and needed hair.
Later that night Maggie told me she wanted to cut her hair for the kids (she is 3) it was so sweet! Then she adds... Ok mom?? When I'm a boy I will cut my hair. SO I don't think we will be cutting her hair haha
it's the thought that counts, I could tell the kids were touched by the show.
On another note, my older brother is in the hospital with the swine flu, my mom says he is getting better so I guess he will be ok
